A church planter is someone marked by a sense of mission to lead others to follow Jesus. He is a disciple-making disciple.

What do people encounter when they encounter you? When people encounter a church planter, they’re not far from encountering Jesus. A church planter’s life is marked by sharing the gospel with people. He loves to talk about Jesus. He wants his unbelieving neighbors to follow Jesus, and he wants to help his believing neighbors mature in following Jesus. He sees his family, neighborhood, vocation, and church as a place to mature and multiply disciples of Jesus. Because of this vision, he prays for people to come to faith and grow as he looks to build relationships with gospel intentionality.

Questions to Consider

  1. Do I have a strong personal relationship with Jesus as a committed disciple and follower of Jesus?

  2. Do I regularly build relationships with unbelievers who don’t know Jesus in order to point them to Jesus?

  3. Do I regularly engage in personal evangelism and faithful proclamation of the gospel?

  4. Do I regularly invest in other believers in one-to-one discipleship to help them mature in following Christ?
